In 1955, we started as a single bakery in Chicago Illinois, delivering freshly made buns to our customers from one delivery truck. Today, East Balt Bakeries is 2,100 Employees Strong and is a Global Bakery Leader. We proudly supply restaurant chains around the world with high quality buns and artisan rolls from our 21 high-speed Bakeries located in 11 countries.
The East Balt Bakeries Leadership team is comprised of bakery and foodservice industry experts with decades of business-building experience. This expertise is shared across the organization through functional team alignment in a variety of disciplines. This structure enables us to effectively communicate across our global structure, share best practices and leverage technical baking and food safety expertise and resources to our individual bakeries.
With the ultimate responsibility for East Balt's operational, fiscal, human resources, culture, vision, values and strategic direction, as well as customer relationships, Mark Bendix sets the direction of East Balt. He was appointed to this role in January, 2013. Mark has extensive experience in the bakery sector, having held leadership positions at the Quaker Oats Company, Pillsbury, General Mills, and most recently as President of the Bama Companies.
